Lacona
The Lacona campground is on the southern coast of Elba Island, just a few hundred metres from the beaches of Lacona and Margidore, two of the beaches offering the most amenities on the island. The campground is located at the base of the Mount Capo Stella Promontory, where one can easily see Capoliveri and the island of Montecristo on clear days.
The beauty of the views from the campground is combined with a climate of tranquillity and cool air provided by the thick shade of the Eucalyptus tress and Maquis shrubland.
The campground is right next to the town of Lacona, which is approximately 10 km from Portoferraio, Capoliveri and Porto Azzurro.

- The distinguishing feature of the Lacona campground is the high number of "long-standing guests": the long and on-going relationship of hospitality that connects them to the campground is a guarantee of quality for anyone wishing to stay here.
At the Lacona campground it is possible to stay in your own tent, trailer or RV in one of the pitches with parking space, and pets are allowed.

All guests are welcome to use the barbecue areas, the wash room facilities with hot water, the two parking lots with controlled access, the café, the pizzeria, the internet point, the scooter rental outlet and the market.
- What to do
- The Lacona beach and bay are ideal to enjoy the sun and water to practice all sorts of water sports, from water scooters, sailing, surfing and wind-surfing. This beach is equipped with a crane to haul in boats.
Margidore beach is more suited for people who wish to spend relaxing days on the seashore: in fact, it is much less crowded than Lacona beach, and is therefore ideal for people wishing to spend their holiday in peace.
It is interesting to explore the surrounding inland area on scooters or mountain bikes, or marked trails for hiking enthusiasts. Another fun idea is to take part in boat trips to other islands in the Tuscan archipelago.

- We recommend taking three main routes to visit the island:
- in the direction of Campo dell'Elba one can visit the impressive aquarium in Segagnana, and which is also a starting point for a trip to the beautiful Mount Perone;
- in the direction of Capoliveri and Porto Azzurro, which both have mineral museums;
- in the direction of Portoferraio, where there is a museum of Napoleonic relics, the villas where the Emperor lived and various archaeological settlements.
