Mugello Verde

The Mugello Verde Tourist Resort is located in the heart of the hills and forests of Mugello, on a terraced piece of land, pleasantly shaded by century-old pine trees and oaks.

The Mugello area is distinguished by the tranquillity of the mountains bordering between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna, all the while being well connected to the cities of Florence and Bologna.

The campground offers two main types of accommodation:

• Masonry apartments
• Mobile-homes

The masonry apartments are 21sqm (bedsits) and 42sqm (three-room flats), therefore with a varying capacity of between 2 and 5 people. Both types of accommodation have parking, heating, hot water and weekly linen changes.

The “Mobile-home” solution offers three alternatives:

• Nybo Mobile-home (three rooms, sleeps 2-4 people)
• Shelbox Prestige Mobile-home (three rooms, sleeps 2-4 people)
• Shelbox Motel Mobil-home (bedsit, sleeps 2 people)

All of the mobile homes have parking, AC, hot water and weekly linen changes.

The campground has two wash room facility blocks for its patrons, providing free hot water, washing machines, dryers and wash rooms for the physically challenged.

There is also a restaurant-pizzeria offering traditional Tuscan cuisine and bar service, and a market that sells camping gas cylinders.

Mugello Verde offers its visitors the possibility of bringing their pets, and also offers keeping valuables in the safe, free of charge, train and bus ticket sales and an internet point.

Payments can be made with credit card or debit card.

What to do

The campground has tennis courts, a children's playground and swimming pool.

It is also possible to play golf, go horse back riding, practice sports fishing and hang gliding, all within a 5 km radius.

The main attractions outside of the campground are the International Racetrack of Mugello, where the annual Italian motorcycle Grand Prix is held; one can hike and ride horse back through the chestnut forests of Mugello; or practice all the main types of water sports at the very close-by Bilancino Lake.

Shopping lovers can take advantage of the nearby designer outlet, which is located just off the Barberino del Mugello exit on the A1.

To See

The main monuments one must see are the towns and castles spread out over the Mugello mountains, in addition to the Cafaggiolo and Trebbio Medici residences.

It is very easy to get to the art cities of Fiesole, Florence, Volterra and San Gimignano.
Summer is also the ideal season to attend the numerous country fêtes held in the area.
