Scaglieri

The Scaglieri campground is located on the northern coast of Elba Island, facing the Biodola bay which, although it is only 7 kilometres from Portoferraio, has a remarkably intact ecosystem.

The land of the campground is on a small promontory rising above the beaches of Biodola and Scaglieri, and descends gently down on terraces towards the sea.

At Scaglieri it is possible to stay in pitches in the campground, in cottages, chalets and apartments, all of which are equipped with AC and satellite TV. 
 

The facility offers a scenic terrace with a swimming pool, a café and restaurant, and an entertainment team that organises tournaments, games, evening shows and mini-club.

 

Anyone wishing to enjoy the beaches on the seashore can use the beach services (umbrellas, sun beds and beach chairs).

What to do

Elba is part of the Tuscan Archipelago Park, accordingly, it is a protected area where the uncontaminated nature constitutes a great attraction both on the coast and inland. 

 

The enchanting sea bed, teeming with fish and marine vegetation, is ideal for scuba diving: Procchio beach is particularly suited for this sport, and the school here offers diving excursions for experts as well as first-time divers.

 

The renowned beaches of Procchio and Biodola also offer the possibility of renting kayaks, surfing equipment and practice sailing, with lessons for children and adults.

 

The natural environment of uncontaminated vegetation and the numerous species of birds and mammals, make even the prospect of excursions inland of the Scaglieri campground especially attractive: by foot, by mountain bike or by horse, it is possible to follow adventurous itineraries or simple walks in the company of a guide, provided by the tourism establishments and stables on the island.

 

The calendar of country fêtes and events held in the Scaglieri area is particularly interesting: on the very nearby peninsula of Enfola, for example, there are numerous events held in the summer, such as the Wine fête in July, the Sardine and Panzanella fête, which lasts from July to August, and in September there is the traditional Vintage Car Rally of Elba. 

The night-life in the area is provided by numerous businesses: the hub for restaurants, pubs, lounge bars for aperitifs and clubs are all in the nearby Marciana Marina, just five kilometres away from Scaglieri.

We recommend circumnavigating the Enfola peninsula or visiting the many archaeological museums and settlements of Portoferraio, which also has a hot springs facility.
