Camping Torre Pendente - Pisa - Tuscany

Torre Pendente

The campground is situated in an extraordinary location: in fact, it is in Pisa, just 800 metres from Campo dei Miracoli, where the famous Leaning Tower stands.

It therefore brings together nature and relaxation with the proximity of a particularly lively University city.

services
The camp ground offers accommodation for those who prefer spending their holidays in a tent or RV, or for those who prefer greater comfort:

  • for the first group there are spacious pitches arranged on flat ground, provided with recently-renovated wash room facility blocks, and showers with free hot water;
  • for the second group, on the other hand, there are rooms with bathrooms, kitchen and veranda or maxi-caravans.

The service offered by the campground includes a pizzeria-restaurant serving traditional Tuscan food, a pool bar, a wi-fi internet connection, a bazaar and a mini-market.

At the reception desk guests can also use the safe, make payments with credit cards and debit cards, and rent bikes and scooters.
What to do
During high season the campground offers an entertainment service for adults and children, which includes team games and tournaments. Inside the campground it is possible to play five-a-side football (there is NO beach volley court), bocci ball and ping pong.

Being so close to Pisa it is also possible to see all of the events, shows, performances and concerts that are held in the city, especially during the summer season.

San Rossore is very nearby, where it is possible to rents bikes, horses or take rides on horse-drawn carriages along the trails throughout the Park.

The coast is also studded with villages that are perfect for seaside holidays and practicing nautical sports, from wind-surfing to sailing: Versilia and Marina di Vecchiano are very close by.

The peaks of the Apuan Alps are also ideal for those who wish to do some hiking and organise a visit to the thousands of natural caves in the district.

In the summer, opera lovers have the opportunity to see shows at the open-air theatre Torre del Lago, where Puccini's masterpieces are performed.

One must not overlook the bird-watching opportunities that trips to Lago di Massaciuccoli can offer.
To See
It is definitely a must to see the main monuments of the city of Pisa and, weather permitting, Lucca, which is only 20 km away and is easy to reach by train from the very nearby train station of San Rossore (just 500 m from the campground).

In the area surrounding Pisa one cannot miss a visit to the Calci Charterhouse and the former Nicosia monastery.

Being so close to the Apuan Alps, we strongly recommend organising a trip to the most impressive caves in Versilia: the Grotta dell’Onda ('wave cave') and Grotta del Vento ('wind cave').
