Marina di Pisa
The seaside section of the municipality of Pisa, Marina di Pisa stretches out on the coast to the south of the mouth of the Arno to the Lido, fringed by the dense pine wood of Migliarino. Growth of the residential centre began in the early 1900s thanks to the vast sandy shore trimmed with dunes. Today Marina di Pisa has lost many of its beaches due to the erosion of the sea. Despite this, the locality has retained charm, related to the beauty of the natural environment and the memories of its heyday, commemorated by D'Annunzio and the Art Nouveau homes and villas.
