The Lacona area is particularly suited to practice snorkelling and scuba diving, thanks to the fact that there is a smaller concentration of human activity on this side of the island, leaving the seabed intact.
Kayaking is also one of the many water sports it is possible to practice: to this regard, it is a fun idea to circumnavigate Capo Stella.
The rolling hills and relief of the island, which are many but not necessarily arduous, are a good motivation to take trips on foot, bike, or for those who wish to travel out a bit further in a short amount of time, on scooters, which can easily be rented anywhere on the island.
A possible destination could be one of the many other beaches, which are just as beautiful to see, although generally smaller than Lacona. There are 10 other strands within a radius of less than five kilometres, which include Laconella, Margidore, Lido di Capoliveri and the charming sand and pebble dock of Felciaio.
Depending on the time of year, it is also interesting to got to the country fêtes and events that are held in the area, mostly in the municipal town of Capoliveri: from the renowned Grape Festival in September, to celebrate the excellent Elban wine productions, to the night-time trip to the mines where, in August, one can take a guided tour of the typical mining facilities of ancient times in this area of the island.
One must not miss the "0 Km Archipelago" Festival in August which showcases the local agricultural produce of the Tuscan islands, principally wine, extra virgin olive oil, excellent thyme honey, as well as mushrooms, chestnuts and, of course, fresh fish.
