La Montagnola
The campground is located in Sovicille, right next to the city of Siena, which is less than 10 kilometres away, and can be reached easily by car or by bus.
The setting where the campground is situated is immersed in the greenery of luxuriant natural surroundings, distinguished by century-old oak trees.
The village of Sovicille is very well connected to Florence, thanks to the proximity of the Siena-Florence toll highway, as well as Rome, thanks to Cassia Trunk Road 2. There is also the very small yet very convenient airport of Siena-Ampugnano right near by.

- The campground offers excellent quality service for RVs and tents, thanks to pitches that are divided by shrubs and equipped with all necessary amenities. Accommodation is also available in rooms and maxi-caravans.
As the campground offers such diversified types of accommodation, it also has a market which offers bar and buffet service. There are also wash room facilities with hot water, free of charge, buses to Siena and a children's playground.
- What to do
- Visit the area by going to Monteriggioni, a walled city located along the ancient Via Francigena. A good idea could be to travel along a stretch of it on foot or by bike, or book a guided tour to discover the ancient via Romea and the towns along its route.
The renowned Bagni di Petriolo are situated in the area surrounding the campground, which offer the opportunity for a pleasant day of relaxing at the hot springs, in the paid facilities or in the free pools along the Merse river. The Rapolano Terme hot springs are also relatively close-by, where one can bathe in the pools nestled in the Siena countryside.

- The Montagnola campground is located just 10 km from Siena, accordingly, we strongly recommend visiting the beautifuls sights of the city, such as the Duomo and the Museo dell’ Opera del Duomo (Museum of the Cathedral works).
The major art cities around Siena well worth visiting are San Gimignano, with its tower houses, and Volterra, with its splendid archaeological park, and the Guarnacci Etruscan Museum. One must not miss a visit to the walled fortress of Poggibonsi and the turreted city of Monteriggioni.
A visit to the famous Abbey of San Galgano is also a definite must, known for its "sword in the stone", and the entire group of quaint towns in the Merse Valley, including Frosini, Chiusdino and Monticiano.
