Camping Del Mare - Marina di Campo (Island of Elba) - Tuscany

Del Mare

The “Del Mare” campground is on the southern coast of Elba Island, in the municipality of Campo nell’Elba, and is easy to get to from either Lacona or Portoferraio going through Procchio.

Its location is particularly charming, being right on the beach that faces the tiny Marina di Campo bay: thanks to its shape, it is always protected from the wind and makes it safe and pleasant to be on the beach, in addition to having some the clearest water on the island.

services
The campground offers classic pitches for tents and RVs, or two- or three-room bungalows furnished in a particularly modern fashion.

Accommodation in the bungalows includes all of the water, power and gas bills, linen, as well as a free change of linen once a week, in addition to a parking spot and final cleaning.

The ferry booking system provided on the campground's website lets you check which times are available, compare rates and make bookings on-line at no additional cost.

The campground also offers its visitors direct access to the beach, the café, the scuba diving and surfing school.
What to do
Direct access to the beach allows guests to use the famous Marina di Campo beach and the services offered by the bathing establishments, such as sailing schools, scuba diving and boat rental.

Anyone wishing to go to a different beach everyday can easily reach the other marvellous beaches nearby, such as Cavoli and Lacona.

Recommended activities include guided day trips to discover the island, which can be done on foot or using other means such as buses, kayaks or mountain bikes. The pine forest at the end of the seafront in Marina di Campo is an ideal setting for biking and hiking paths, immersed in the greenery.

Another strongly recommended trip is a visit to the Tuscan Archipelago Park, particularly Pianosa.
To See
The town of Marina di Campo situated at the western end of the little bay deserves a trip: the village is dominated by the lookout tower built by the Pisans.

Near Marina di Campo is it a good idea to visit the hillside villages of Sant’Ilario and San Piero in Campo, and then continue along the road that leads to Monte Perone, where it is possible to visit the prehistoric remains of Monte Cocchero, the Roman Columns and the San Giovanni church, which is the oldest Christian temple on the island.

For anyone wishing to visit the nearby island of Pianosa, we recommend exploring the villa of Agrippa, the port and the catacombs from the Roman era, in addition to the caves that have been inhabited since prehistoric times.
