Camping Village Rocchette

Camping Village Rocchette is situated in the heart of Tuscan Maremma, a few kilometers from the medieval town of Castiglione della Pescaia, a charming seaside resort of the Tyrrhenian coast.
Surrounded by a century-old pine forest, it offers 105 bungalows (2 to 6 people) and a large campsite with 135 pitches, almost entirely in the shadow of the beautiful Mediterranean bush and a toilette block recently renovated according to modern standards.
News 2015/2016: Lodge Tents, Mini Lodge Tents and Mini Double Lodge Tents (2 to 5 people) for a vacation deep in nature, for camping lovers, with a touch of comfort.
A few meters further, the beautiful beach of Rocchette, award-winning by Legambiente: an inlet sheltered from the wind and dominated by an austere fortress.

What to do

For those who love outdoor sports, a wide variety of activities to do: diving lessons both in the pool that in the open sea; horseback riding in the green countryside of Maremma; archery lessons and swimming or tennis lessons. 

For those who love the sea and the contact with nature, it is definitely worth to visit the small bays, one after the other from Punta Ala to Scarlino, all accessible through trails with breathtaking views on the sea: the most famous are Cala Civette with its beautiful tower overlooking the crystal sea; Cala Violina, a corner of  paradise hidden in the wild Mediterranean bush and Cala Martina, from which Giuseppe Garibaldi set out. 

The inland sets aside pleasant surprises with its charming medieval towns of Scarlino, Gavorrano and Massa Marittima, theater of festivals and fairs during the summer season; the pristine nature of the "Bandite di Scarlino" also offers the opportunity to go trekking or biking. 

Finally, you can taste our local wines and products (oil, mushrooms, chestnuts, sausages and cheese) in the several wineries and small local farms of our land.

To See

Surrounded by nature and just a few hours driving from the main points of historical and artistic interest of Tuscany, the Camping Village Rocchette is the ideal starting point to visit famous cities such as Siena, Pisa, Volterra and San Gimignano. It is possible to reach with daily excursions by boat the picturesque islands of our archipelago, such as Capraia, Giglio, Elba, Pianosa and Giannutri. The medieval town of Castiglione della Pescaia, with its beautiful historic centre full of narrow streets, is easy to reach via bike path or shuttle-bus service. 

Nearby, you can also find the important Etruscan archaeological sites of Vetulonia, Roselle, and Populonia, which overlooks the beautiful Gulf of Baratti.
The main attraction for those who love nature, however, is the Maremma Natural Park, which offers the possibility to go hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, but also to do some bird-watching or spotting the many varieties of animals that still live in this wild protected area, where everything lasts authentic.
