Baia Verde
The campground is located in the centre of the Etruscan Coast, right in front of Elba Island, just a few kilometres from Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia. Punta Ala is situated on a part of the coast that is particularly good for sailing, thanks to the constant winds. The town joins the descent to the seafront with the wild inland of Tuscan Maremma perfectly.
The campground is established in a luxuriant pine forest, outside of which there is a sandy beach that leads gently to the sea.

- The Baia Verde campground offers three types of solutions for accommodation:

Our leading service is provided by the café on the beach and boathouse. Our range of services is nevertheless very broad and includes a restaurant, wash room facilities with hot water, a supermarket, a bazaar and news agent's.
Our guests also have access to an internet point, a laundry area with washing machines and dryers, and day-time and evening entertainment when games, tournaments and shows are organised.
- What to do
- As Baia Verde is in Punta Ala, the sailing "sanctuary", it is very likely that our guests wish to take sailing lessons offered by the schools in the area, or simply enjoy watching the many regattas that are held in the waters of the coast.
Of course it is also possible to practice any one of the other water sports, from wind-surfing to scuba diving, or take a boat trip towards Elba and the islands in the archipelago.
Another fun activity is definitely mountain biking, which one can easily rent to take a long trip into the immense stretches of open country side in the Tuscan Maremma.
The entire Gulf of Follonica is also there for anyone who loves to discover new beaches and less crowded coves, yet always offering crystal clear water and fine, white sandy beaches.
- To See
- Punta Ala is a splendid starting point to visit the main Etruscan settlements in the area. Often immersed in the shade of the forests, the necropolis of Vetulonia and the ruins of the Etruscan city of Roselle are there for you to visit.
One must not miss a visit to the very nearby town of Castiglione della Pescaia, with its walled fortress, offering an unforgettable view of the coast. Right next to Castiglione, one can visit the Diaccia Botrona Park, a paradise for bird-watching enthusiasts; the Bandite di Scarlino Park is also a must-see, and is only a fifteen-minute drive from Punta Ala.
