From Castiglione della Pescaia you can get on board of cruises for daily trips to Giglio and Elba Islands or you can sail, dive and do other water sports.
As the campground is located near the "heart" of the Maremma, outdoor activities are also a great attraction: the top activity is taking walks on the trails through the nature of the vast Nature Reserves in the district, which are easy to follow thanks to the Italian Alpine Committee who recently 'restyled' the signs; on the other hand, it is also possible to organise guided trips, to discover the varieties of plants, birds and large mammals that live in the area.
The rolling hills that distinguish the surrounding areas of Castiglione are also suitable for mountain biking, thanks to the great number of off-road trails, offering wonderful views. Anyone who loves bike riding along streets can nevertheless take a spin on more challenging trails, such as the famous "Tirli circuit", offering magnificent views and are also used by numerous professional riders.
The Maremma area is also the homeland of the 'butteri' (cowboys) and as such, it is well organised to cater to people who love horse back riding: the numerous stables in the area provide typical Maremmano horses for simple walks with a guide or for longer, further-reaching trips along marked riding trails.
