Il Sergente

The"Il Sergente" campground is located in Mugello, a mountainous area of Tuscany famous for its traditional cuisine and trades, in addition to having a prestigious artistic and cultural heritage, partly because it is linked to the events of Florence and partly because of its position along some of the most ancient roads.

The campground is situated at 780 metres above sea level ensuring a cool climate even in the summer, also offering a notably healthy and relaxing nature, which is also beneficial for young children.

The campground is set up on typical "terraces", and for this reason the pitches, all of which are equipped with power outlets, are well-shaded.
Our clients are provided with all major amenities:

• Inside the campground there is a lounge-restaurant, a café, a pizzeria, a mini-market, a swimming pool, tennis court, a five-a-side football field, a bocci ball green and a playground for children;
• There are also hiking routes near the campground, with the possibility of walking along the Strada Romana Flaminia Militare, and Via degli Dei which connects Florence to Bologna through the woods.

Some of the main services provided by the apartments, with individual heating during the winter:

• a living room with kitchenette, a fireplace, a television set, a safe;
• two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with a bunk bed;
• large bathroom and furnished balcony.

Alternative accommodation is available to our guests, with the possibility of renting a Mobile-home which can sleep 2 to 5 people, or a caravan, which can sleep up to 4 people.

What to do

Upper Mugello offers a broad assortment of activities for you to enjoy:

• hiking and horse back riding through the century-old chestnut forests;
• sports such as tennis, five-a-side football and archery, in addition to golf at the Golf Club Poggio dei Medici;
• all water sports can be enjoyed at Bilancino Lake located very close by;
• it is possible to shop for brand name clothing at discounted prices at the huge outlet in Barberino del Mugello

To See

With Barberino di Mugello being so close to Toll Highway (Autostrada) A1, it is possible to reach all of the major art cities in Tuscany: not only Florence, but Arezzo, Siena and Pisa as well.

The recommended day trips are obviously the Bilancino, Suviana and Brasimone Lakes Park, all located along the crest between Emilia and Tuscany; a visit to the Villa medicea di Cafaggiolo, one of the oldest properties of the Medici family; and a trip through the medieval towns of Scarperia and Borgo San Lorenzo, without missing the tiny village of Vespignano, to see the house where Giotto was born.
